Last Song before Shabbat

$60.00

The Last Song before Shabbat is painted in a Van Gogh style where you can see the brush strokes expressing movement and energy in the piece.

I grew up not knowing anything about Shabbat.  When I learned about it and tried Shabbat for the first time I thought it was amazing to take a break, stop, and let go of the working world for 25 hours. In addition, it made me so much more conscious of the other six days of the week; During the six days of the week, I have the ability and opportunity to work, make things, and create - and I like to work, make things, and create.

Then I was inspired to paint one last special thing we do before Shabbat, before the transition of doing to being.

I thought it would be nice to paint someone playing one last song. In this painting you can see the figure sitting on the bench and playing one last song as a special energy comes out into the world as everything around him begins to change. Shabbat, nature, and the figure join together to create the special time that is the coming in of Shabbat.

The painting is celebrating that moment of transition.
